TIFFIN, Ohio (Feb. 6) – The Wheeling University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Tiffin Dragon Invite Saturday afternoon.
The day was highlighted by a record-breaking performance by senior
Liz Fleming (Washington, Pa./Trinity). The 2020 Mountain East Conference (MEC) Indoor Field Athlete of the Year broke her own record in the weight throw with a mark of 18.35 meters to win the event. She also placed third in the shot put with a heave of 12.51 meters.
Senior
Emmarie Foote (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg) won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.03 seconds.
Freshman
Jaci Rife (Springfield, Ohio/Tecumseh) posted a winning time in the 400-meter dash with a time of one minute, 0.74 seconds.
Freshman
JayLynn McClarren (Cambridge, Ohio/Cambridge) placed fifth overall in the long jump with a leap of 4.90 meters. Her mark ranks as the seventh-best all-time in Wheeling University indoor history.
Freshman
Princess Love (Houston, Texas/C.E. King) placed sixth in the shot put with a personal-record heave of 11.81 meters.
On the men's side, freshman
Jabez Reeves (Woodbridge, Va./Gar-Field) qualified for the finals of the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.18 and placed third overall with a time of 7.06 seconds. His time tied the fifth-fastest time in the event in school history.
Also posted an all-time mark was freshman
Moses Koroma (Woodbridge, Va./Gar-Field). Koroma posted a time of 8.43 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to finish fifth overall. His time is the sixth-fastest time in Wheeling history.
Senior Brian VanDusan (Monogahela, Pa./Ringgold) placed fourth overall in the long jump with a mark of 6.23 meters.
Freshman
Muhammad Bilal (Woodbridge, Va./Gar-Field) placed eighth overall in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 23.54 seconds.
