Wheeling, W. Va. – On Monday, the NCAA announced the host sites and the seeding for the NCAA Division II Regional Volleyball Tournament, which is being held for the first time since the 2019 season. Wheeling University was named the #1 seed in the Atlantic Region, and will also serve as the host site for the Atlantic Regional Tournament, which runs from December 2^nd through December 4^th inside the Alma Grace McDonough Center.

The 2021 season will mark the ninth time that Wheeling has been the host school for the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament. Wheeling earned the number one seed this season, but going 27-5 overall and being crowned the Mountain East Conference (MEC) champions with a 3-1 win over West Virginia State. Their only conference loss of the season came against those Yellow Jackets during the regular season. Wheeling finished the year with a 24-5 record against in-region opponents, and a 26-5 record against Division II opponents they held a first-place ranking in the Atlantic Regional Rankings for three weeks in a row and were able to maintain that as they get set to host the Atlantic Regional Championship.

All seven games of the tournament will be played inside the Alma Grace McDonough Center and will have a Live Stream and Live Stats for each game. The first day of competition will feature four games at 12 pm, 2:30 PM, 5 PM, and 7:30 PM. The second day will feature games at 5 PM and 7:30 PM, and the championship game is set to be held on Saturday, December 4^th at 7 PM. The eight-team field includes Wheeling, #2 Gannon, #3 Shepherd, #4 Edinboro, #5 Clarion, #6 West Virginia State, #7 East Stroudsburg, and #8 Fayetteville State. On day one the #1 seed will play the #8 seed, the #2 seed will play the #7 seed, the #3 seed will play the #6 seed, and the #4 seed will play the #5 seed. After each game, there will be a press conference, with the advancing team's coach going first, followed by the eliminated team. The exception will be with the championship game where the runner-up will go first followed by the champion.
