Wheeling, W. Va. - For the first time since the 2016-2017 academic year, the Wheeling University Men's Swimming team got to swim in front of their home fans at the Alma Grace McDonough Natatorium. The pair of swimmers took home several first-place finishes throughout the day, as they continue to get stronger and stronger as the season moves on.
Freshman
Nathan Yost got the day started for Wheeling in the 200-yard Freestyle, and got his first win of the day with a time of 1:22.15. In total, Yoast races three times on the day and picked upfirst-placee finishes in all three of those races. His other two events were the 100-yard backstroke, where he posted a time of 1:02.05, and he finished it off with the 100-yard butterfly, where he posted a time of 58.99 seconds. It was a big lift for the freshman in his first home event as a collegiate swimmer. His teammate sophomore
Ethan Banks had similar success in his races, as Wheeling took home first place finishes in every race.
Banks started his day with the 200-yard intermediate, where he posted a time of 2:14.31. He also raced three times on the day and won all three of his races. He appeared in the 100-yard freestyle, with a time of 53.78, and the 500-yard freestyle, where he posted a time of 5:15.30. There weren't enough members on the team to score a victory, but it was an overall productive day for the Men's swimmers.
