Donahue selected Google Cloud Academic All-District

WHEELING, W.Va. (May 17) - Wheeling Jesuit University wrestling sophomore Jared Donahue (Vienna, W.Va./Parkersburg) was tabbed a Google Cloud Academic All-District II First Team selection Friday afternoon announced the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
Donahue is now eligible for consideration for the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team, which will be announced next month.
 
Donahue finished this past season 28-6 overall at 141 pounds with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships this past March to earn All-America honors on the mat.
 
The Parkersburg High School product earned bonus points in 56 percent of his matches this season and was the runner-up at 141 in the Super Region III Tournament which qualified him to compete at nationals.
 
In the classroom, Donahue maintained a 3.90 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) as a biology major at Wheeling Jesuit.
 
To qualify for the academic all-district honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.30 GPA or higher and must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games and must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.
 
The Google Cloud Academic All-District teams include student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
