LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 4) - The Wheeling University volleyball team moved up two spots to No. 15 in the latest Division II Top-25 poll released by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Monday afternoon.
The Cardinals, who were ranked No. 17 last week, picked up a trio of Mountain East Conference (MEC) sweeps over Notre Dame (Ohio), Fairmont State, and Frostburg State to 23-3 overall this season.
Wheeling's losses this season are all to top-10 teams in the country. The Cardinals lost matches to current-
No. 4 Western Washington,Â
No. 5 Minnesota Duluth andÂ
No. 8 St. Cloud State.

The Cardinals will find out where they slot in the Atlantic Region this week when the initial regional rankings are unveiled. Wheeling is the only team from the Atlantic Region ranked in the AVCA Top-25.
Wheeling will play tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5 against Charleston, before closing out the week with a date at Urbana on Saturday, November 9. Urbana is currently 10-1 in MEC play, with their only loss coming at Wheeling earlier this season.
