WHEELING, W.Va. (Jan. 17) - The Wheeling Jesuit University men's basketball team was dealt an 88-68 loss by Concord Thursday night inside the McDonough Center.
The loss sends the Cardinals to 1-14 overall, 0-9 in the Mountain East Conference (MEC). Meanwhile, the Mountain Cats improve ot 6-3 in league play, 10-4 overall this season.

DeAndre Robinson (Monroeville, Ala./Monroe County) led the Cardinals with 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting and 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Freshman guard
Franck Kamgain (Kansas City, Mo./DME Sports Academy) chipped in 11 points in the loss.

Steve Cannady (Bowie, Md./St. Vincent Palotti) with 16:28 left in the first half, but Concord mounted a run with 12-unanswered to establish a double-digit lead. WJU got back to within eight, 28-20, with 7:28 to play in the first period, before another big run by the Mountain Lions allowed them to open up a 50-25 lead at halftime. Concord shot 16 of 27 (59 percent), including 11 of 19 (58 percent) from long range in the opening 20 minutes.
Wheeling Jesuit shot the ball more efficiently in the second half, but were unable to make up much ground on the Mountain Lions until late in the game. The Cardinals closed the game on an 8-1 run and made four of five attempts from beyond-the-arc in the closing minutes, before succumbing to a double-digit loss.
Wheeling Jesuit shot 26 of 65 for the game (40 percent), including a 17 of 37 (46 percent) showing in the second half. Concord posted a 30 of 61 (49 percent) outing from the field, which included a 17 of 34 (50 percent) performance from three-point range.
The Cardinals are back on the McDonough Center floor on Saturday, January 19 for an MEC contest against Virginia-Wise at 4 p.m.
