CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Oct. 14) - In a meeting of top-25 teams, the No. 25 Wheeling Jesuit men's soccer team fell at No. 5 Charleston 3-0 Sunday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference (MEC) match.
The Cardinals, ranked No. 25 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches poll, falls to 8-3-2 overall, 7-3 in the MEC. Two of the team's three losses have come at the hands of the defending National Champion Golden Eagles. Charleston improves to 13-0-2 this season, 11-0-1 in league play. The Golden Eagles have only allowed two goals all season, both of which were scored in a previous meeting at Wheeling Jesuit.
Charleston broke a scoreless game open with a goal in the 26th-minute of the match to take a 1-0 lead, which would stand until halftime.
The Golden Eagles added to its lead with back-to-back goals quickly in the second half. Charleston scored two goals in the 61st-minute to establish a 3-0 lead and pull away for the win.

Wheeling Jesuit returns home on Thursday, October 18 for a MEC matchup with Urbana at 8 p.m.
