WJU Rolls Past UBuffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. – On a cold day off Lake Erie, the Wheeling Jesuit rugby team scored the match's first 29 points and rolled past the University of Buffalo, 29-7, Saturday afternoon.
 
After a 12-0 opening half, the Cardinals' Killian Gause carried the ball over the endline twice for a pair of second-half tries as part of 17 more unanswered points. The Bulls converted their lone score with four minutes left in the match.
 
Joji Vakasisakala added a first-half try (29:43) and converted an extra point. WJU also received tries from Ryan Graggs and Taylor Ozment.
 
The Cardinals Junior Varsity squad posted an even more impressive final score of 81-12.
 
WJU stays on the road for a Friday night, Oct. 28, match against top 10 ranked Penn State starting at 6 p.m.
