WHEELING, W.Va. – In a Friday afternoon matinee, the Wheeling Jesuit volleyball team made quick work of Mountain East Conference member Notre Dame College, 3-0, for its seventh-straight sweep.
 
The No. 10 Cardinals (12-3/2-0 MEC) pounded a .396-hit percentage as they won the three sets from the Falcons (1-9/0-1 MEC) 25-14, 25-16 and 25-7.
 
Emma Schleucher lined a team-high eight kills, hit .700 and served three aces in the winning WJU effort. Kayce Krucki added seven kills and eight digs while Emily Blank downed five kills in 10 attacks.
 
Wheeling Jesuit has a big pair of Saturday road matches. WJU plays No. 2 Ferris State at 3 p.m., before it faces host Malone beginning at 6 p.m.

In the sets…
After the Falcons killed the opening point, the Cardinals ran off the next five tallies. WJU held a 9-6 lead, but it went on a second 5-1 spurt for a 14-7. The home team coasted to the 25-14 set one final.
 
Notre Dame College was within two points at both 9-7 and 10-8 in the second set. WJU hit a quick stride with seven of the next nine points as it received a pair of Sydney Obringer kills.
 
The Cardinals started the third set with a 7-1 lead and never were challenged. Two Schleucher aces were part of a 7-0 run to open a 19-3 lead, before the 25-7 final.
