WHEELING, W. Va. – Jessie Tufnell fired eight goals and helped send her Wheeling Jesuit senior women's lacrosse teammates out on a high note Friday evening with a convincing win, 22-9, over Notre Dame College.
Tufnell found the net four times in the opening eight minutes and shot in two during the Lady Cardinal 6-0 run to open a 10-2 lead. WJU (5-7/3-1 Mountain East Conference) led by no less than eight goals in the rest of the match for the 12-goal victory.

Erin Underwood and
Sara Buckley out victorious in their final home match at Bishop Schmitt Field. Underwood netted a goal, scooped a ground ball and caused a turnover to her credit.
Elizabeth Hales contributed four goals, an assist and three ground balls.
Olivia Krock and
Emilie Tomlinson were the other two Lady Cardinal multi-goal scorers with two apiece.

Maire Austin saved five Notre Dame College (2-6/1-3 MEC) shots.
Darbie Barman scored four of the Falcons nine goals.
The Lady Cardinals opened a 3-0 lead in the first 1:50 of the match. The Falcon scratched back to make it 4-2 with 26:02 left in the first half.
WJU hit the back of the net for six unanswered goals over the next eight minutes for a 10-2 and were never challenged the final 48-plus minutes.
Wheeling Jesuit travels for a Sunday match at The University of Virginia's College at Wise. The opening draw control is set for noon.
