Box Score Wheeling, W.Va. – It was no surprise that Saturday's game would be a highly contested affair. Concord University was ranked #5 in the Mountain East Conference standings. Wheeling Jesuit was ranked #6.
Most of the first half featured a back and forth battle until 3 minutes left to play. Jesuit went on a tear at the end of the half as three Cardinals registered double digit scoring totals in the first 20 minutes of play.
Justin Fritts led the Cardinals in the first half. Fritts made 5 of 7 attempts, including 4 three-pointers, for 14 points. Freshman guard Patrick Moseh went 6 of 8 from the field for 13 points, two steals, and a blocked shot. Finally, Ritz hit 3 of 4 field goal attempts and went 4 for 4 from the foul line for 10 points in 16 minutes of play.
Jesuit had an advantage in turnovers and rebounds in the first half. Jesuit committed seven turnovers to Concord's 10. The Cardinals outrebounded the Mountain Lions 20 to 16. Jesuit went red hot at the end of the half, hitting 51.4% of its shots. Concord hit only 42.4% of its attempts. WJU went into the intermission up by 8, 45-37.
On this day, if Concord thought it was going to get back into the game, it had another thing coming. Fritts and Moseh opened the second half, scoring at will, and extending the Jesuit lead. Fritts had 11 points and Moseh had nine to stretch the WJU lead in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Haywood Highsmith electrified the crowd with a dunk at the 9:43 mark, putting Jesuit ahead 75-56.
WJU would hit 52.6% of its shots for the game, outrebounded Concord 35 to 28, and hit 53.3% of its three-point attempts in the second half to beat the Mountain Lions 90-79.
Fritts finished the game with a season-high 32 points, hitting 8 of 10 three-point attempts, and adding three rebounds and two steals. Moseh added 22 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 27 minutes of play. Ritz registered the only double-double of the game, tallying 13 points and 10 rebounds with seven assists and one steal.
The victory moves the overall record of Wheeling Jesuit Men's Basketball to 13-8 and 9-7 in the Mountain East Conference. The Cardinals return to action next Thursday February 12
th at 7:30pm when they travel to Fairmont State University.
