Box Score Wise, Va. – Playing in its first game since the Christmas break, the Wheeling Jesuit Men's Basketball team scored 44 points in the paint, 24 points off turnovers, and got 22 points off the bench to beat UVA Wise on the road 76-63.
Freshman forward
Pat Moseh led the Cardinals with a season high 26 points. Moseh, who averages 12.3 points per game, shot 12 of 17 from the field and had three rebounds and two steals in 30 minutes of play.
Junior guard
Justin Fritts added 16 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. Fritts, who averages 12.5 points per game, played 34 minutes against UVA Wise, his most playing time in a game this season.
Sophomore guard
Chase Lawson hit 4 of 6 field goals to post 11 points in 19 minutes off the bench.
Junior guard
Eric Siefert rounded out the Cardinals' double digit scoring. Siefert finished the game with 10 points and added nine assists, eight rebounds, and two steals in the victory.
Finally, freshman forward
Haywood Highsmith hit the glass for 14 rebounds and added 6 points, a block, and a steal.
The Cardinals had a 34 to 28 lead going into the half. Jesuit extended that lead by as much as 20 points in the second half thanks to hitting 54.8% of their shots. The Cardinals outshot UVA Wise 47.8% to 37% for the game.
The victory brings the Cardinals' overall record to 6-3 and 2-2 in the Mountain East Conference. Jesuit Men's Basketball returns to action on the road again this Monday January 5
th for a 6pm tipoff against the Mountain Lions of Concord University.
