Box Score Shepherdstown, W.Va. – The Jesuit Men's Basketball program traveled to the Butcher Center on the campus of Shepherd University Saturday afternoon for a 2pm tipoff. Four Jesuit players scored in double digits as Jesuit beat the Rams 86-82.
Junior guard
Eric Siefert led the Cardinals hitting 6 of 8 three-point attempts and went 70% from the field for 20 points. Siefert added five steals, four assists, and one blocked shot in the victory.
Sophomore forward
Kyle Ritz had the only double double on the day for either squad. Ritz finished the game with 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Freshman forward Patrick Moseh came back from injury and added 15 points in 24 minutes of play and freshman forward
Haywood Highsmith hit 5 of 6 shots, added seven rebounds, and finished the game with 11 points.
Jesuit trailed by two points at the half, 39-37. The Cardinals focused in the second half and hit 63% in field goal percentage and 55.6% from 3-point range. WJU outscored Shepherd 49-43 in the second half and it was the difference in the game.
The victory moves Wheeling Jesuit's overall record to 7-7 and 3-6 in the Mountain East Conference. Shepherd University falls to 5-5 in the Mountain East Conference and is 10-6 overall.
The Cardinals return to action when they travel the windy road up to cross-town rival West Liberty University on Wednesday night, January 22
nd, for a 7:30 pm tipoff.
