Box Score Wheeling, W.Va. – The Wheeling Jesuit Men's Basketball team had three players break the 20 point scoring barrier and another two in double digits as the Cardinals beat the visiting Urbana University Blue Knights 109-97 on Thursday night.
Wheeling Jesuit was led by sophomore forward
Kyle Ritz who hit 8 of 11 from the field, 2 of 3 from beyond the arc, made 9 of 11 free throws, and posted nine rebounds for 27 total points in 33 minutes of play.
Right next to Ritz was junior guard
Eric Siefert who added 24 points, two rebounds, and two steals. Freshman forward
Haywood Highsmith continued his dominant play, hitting 8 of 9 from the field, 4 of 5 shots from the line, and posted 6 rebounds for 20 points of his own in the victory.
Freshman forward Patrick Moseh and sophomore guard
Chase Lawson each had double digit scoring nights. Lawson had 14 points, three assists, and four steals. Moseh added 13 points, 8 rebounds, and five assists.
Jesuit had a 3 point lead at the half, 51-48, and shot 63.6% from the field to win going away in the second half.
The victory brings the WJU Men's Basketball's overall record to 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in Mountain East Conference play. The Cardinals return to action this Saturday December 6
th, when they travel to South Euclid, OH to take on MEC conference opponent Notre Dame College. Game time is set for 4pm.
