Box Score Wheeling, W.Va. – Led by junior point guard
Jaila Bryant, the Wheeling Jesuit Women's Basketball team beat Urbana University in Mountain East Conference play Thursday night in the McDonough Center, 86-59.
Bryant, a 5'8" guard from Pickerington, Ohio, led all competitors on the court with 22 total points and added five rebounds in the victory. Wheeling Jesuit hit 52.8% of their shots from the field in the first half to run out to a 19 point lead at halftime.
Jesuit got balanced scoring production from four other players as Wheeling Jesuit expanded its lead in the second half. Junior guard Bree Butler and sophomore forward
Lydia Hyburg each had 11 points, while senior guard
Emily Robinson hit 4 of 5 field goals and 2 of 3 three-pointers for 10 totals points, and sophomore guard
Kylie Frizell added a team high 11 rebounds and nine points of her own.
Jesuit out-rebounded Urbana 48 to 28 in the contest.
"This was a good team win for us tonight.
Jaila Bryant played well on both sides of the ball. We did an outstanding job on the boards. We had four players in double digits and two players with nine points each. Finally, our post play was the best it has been all year. I am proud of the effort the team gave tonight and I look forward to seeing us develop throughout the year as we continue Mountain East Conference play," stated Head Coach

The win brings Wheeling Jesuit's record to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in Mountain East Conference play. The Cardinals return to action when they travel to South Euclid, OH to take on Notre Dame College this Saturday December 6
th at 2pm.
