Eric Siefert exploded for 25 points as the Jesuit Men's Basketball team downed Ohio Valley University 87-74 in non-conference play Saturday afternoon in the McDonough Center.
Siefert hit 8 of 15 from the field, made 5 of 6 foul shot attempts, had 5 rebounds, and added two assists in 34 minutes of play.
Three other Jesuit players hit double digits in the win. Sophomore forward
Kyle Ritz went 6 of 9 from the field, had seven rebounds, and added two steals and a block. Junior forward
Tim Goff posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Finally, freshman forward Patrick Moseh made 3 of 4 from the field, drained the only three pointer he attempted, and hit 5 of 8 from the foul line for 12 points on the night. Moseh also added six rebounds and three assists.
Wheeling Jesuit only committed eight turnovers in the game. The Cardinals had a 15 to 4 advantage in points off turnovers, getting Jesuit out to a 12 point lead at the half.
With the win, Jesuit Men's Basketball moves its overall record to 5-3. The Cardinals go on the road for their next two games after the Christmas break. Jesuit travels to UVA-Wise for a Mountain East conference game on January 3
rd at 4pm. The Cardinals then continue on the road against Concord University on January 5
th at 6pm. The next home game for WJU is January 8
th against Fairmont State University.
