Box Score Wheeling, W.Va. – Five different Jesuit Women's Basketball players hit double digits as the Cardinals downed Ohio Valley University 84-61 in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon at Wheeling Jesuit University.
Junior guard
Breanna Butler scored 17 total points, added four rebounds and four assists, and went 8 of 8 from the foul line to lead WJU to victory. Junior forward
Taylor Lubinsky had 13 total points, hit 5 of 5 foul shots, and had seven rebounds, two block shots, and one steal. Senior guard
Emily Robinson scored 12 total points, making 4 of 6 field goals, and had five assists and three rebounds on the day. Finally, both sophomore forward
Lydia Hyburg and freshman guard Cassie Stein had 10 points apiece. Stein hit 3 of 4 from the field, went 3 of 4 from the foul line, and finished with two steals and one block. Hyburg connected on 4 of 7 field goals and added four rebounds.
Wheeling Jesuit hit 62.2% from the field. The Lady Cardinals out-rebounded Ohio Valley 32 to 16. In addition, the Cardinals made 20 of 21 free throws, making an impressive 95.2% of their attempts from the charity stripe.
Jesuit led at the half by 15 and never looked back.
The 23-point victory moves the program's overall record to 4-3. Jesuit Women's Basketball returns to Mountain East Conference action after the Christmas break on January 3rd at 5:30pm on the road against UVA-Wise. WJU then travels to Athens, W.Va. for a 4pm contest on January 5
th against Concord University. The Lady Cardinals return home on January 8
th for a 5:30pm game against Fairmont State University.
