Box Score Shepherdstown, W.Va. – The Wheeling Jesuit Volleyball team, ranked #10 in NCAA Division II, won the Mountain East Conference regular season Championship by defeating the Shepherd University Rams on Friday night 25-9, 25-22, 25-21.
The Cardinals came out of the gate fast in the first set. Jesuit was led by sophomore middle
Emma Schleucher, who currently ranks among the top 10 in hitting percentage in NCAA Division II. Schleucher, who hit .476 in the contest, had 12 kills, two digs, two blocks, and one service ace.

Kayce Krucki had 10 kills, seven digs, and two blocks. Sophomore middle
Haley Kindall hit .400 in the contest. Joining her was junior outside
Jessica Thobe. Thobe posted nine kills, 15 digs, and two blocks.
Once again, sophomore setter
Andrea Thobe kept the Cardinals in offensive phase all match long. Thobe had 36 assists and eight digs.
Finally, senior libero
Makenzie Ripley added another 9 digs to her career statistics.
The win pushed Jesuit's overall record to 31-3 and a perfect 15-0 in the Mountain East Conference. More importantly, the victory crowns the Cardinals the 2014 regular season champion.
Wheeling Jesuit finishes the regular season tomorrow on the road at Fairmont State University. The Cardinals will take on the Falcons at 7pm. Tonight's victory also means that Wheeling Jesuit will host the 2014 Mountain East Volleyball Tournament, which will run from Thursday, November 13
th to Saturday, November 15
th.
