Box Score Charleston, W.Va. – The Wheeling Jesuit Women's Basketball team traveled to Charleston, West Virginia for a Monday night Mountain East conference game against the Eagles of the University of Charleston.
In the first half, Charleston had the hot hand from the arc, hitting 3 of 7 from three point land and 11 of 22 field goals. The Eagles took a six point lead into the half, 33-27.
The Cardinals battled back to a 40-40 tie at 14:39 in the second half on the heels of a
Breanna Butler 3 pointer. But, 24 seconds later the Eagles hit a two-point jumper and they never looked back, winning 72-56.
Jesuit was led by junior guard Jalia Bryant. Bryant had 16 total points, hit 8 of 10 free throws, posted 7 rebounds, and had two steals in the loss. Butler had 14 total points and five rebounds.
The loss drops the Cardinals to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the Mountain East Conference. The Cardinals return to action on Thursday, December 4
th when they host Urbana University in the McDonough Center at 5:30 p.m.
