Jesuit Volleyball Advances to NCAA Atlantic Region Semifinals

Box Score Wheeling, WVa. – #1 Wheeling Jesuit (35-3) faced #8 Chowan University (26-6) in the last quarterfinal matchup of the day.  
 
The Cardinals got off to a 12-4 lead in the first set.  Jesuit eventually finished off the Hawks 25-11.  Corrin Early led Wheeling Jesuit with six kills and five digs.  Five different Cardinals registered a kill in the first set, as WJU hit .267 in the first stanza.  Chowan was led by Melanie Chaussee, who posted three kills for the Hawks.
 
Jesuit led the entire second set, winning 25-17.  The Cardinals stayed consistent hitting .263 in the second set and unloading the entire bench.  Emma Schleucher entered the match in the second set and put down four kills, hitting .800.
 
It was much of the same in the third set, as WJU ran out to an 11-4 lead and never looked back.  Haley Kindall entered the match in the third set and hit .750 by putting down six kills on eight attempts.  Jesuit won the third set 25-10, finishing off the Hawks in three straight sets. 
 
Wheeling Jesuit moves on to the semi-final round and will face Seton Hill University tomorrow night at 7:30 pm in the McDonough Center.  The other semifinal matchup will pit California University of Pennsylvania against Clarion University in the 5:00 pm match.  The winners of both semi-finals will meet in the Atlantic Regional Tournament Championship at 7:00 pm on Saturday, November 22.
