Box Score Fairmont, W.Va. – #10 Wheeling Jesuit Volleyball traveled to Fairmont State University to take on the Falcons in the final regular season match of the 2014 campaign. Jesuit finished the regular season with a perfect 16-0 record in the Mountain East Conference and will now host the Mountain East Conference tournament this coming week.
Once again a pair of sophomore middle blockers,
Emma Schleucher and
Haley Kindall, led the charge for the Cardinals. Kindall put down 13 kills, had four blocks, and finished the match with a .579 hitting percentage. Schleucher also had 13 kills while adding three digs, two blocks, and one service ace.
A pair of outside hitters, sophomore
Kayce Krucki and junior
Jessica Thobe, also had big games in the three set victory. Krucki put down nine kills, had 14 digs, and posted three blocks. Thobe also had nine kills, 14 digs, and two blocks as Jesuit won 25-22, 25-13, and 25-19.
Senior defensive specialist
Makenzie Ripley led all competitors on the court with 19 digs while sophomore setter
Andrea Thobe had 41 assists, 12 digs, and one service ace. Finally, sophomore middle
Katie Campbell came off the bench and turned in a solid performance registering three kills, one dig, and one block.
The victory moves Wheeling Jesuit's overall record to 32-3. The Cardinals will host the Mountain East Conference Volleyball Tournament next Thursday, November 13
th.
