Box Score Wheeling, W.Va. – The Wheeling Jesuit Volleyball team, ranked #12 in NCAA Division II, hosted the Blue Falcons of Notre Dame College in the first match of Saturday's tri-match in the McDonough Center. It was also Senior Day, as the volleyball program thanked three seniors for their commitment to the program – senior defensive specialist

The first set started off close as the Cardinals maintained a 9-7 lead. At that point, Wheeling Jesuit exploded, hitting .333 in the first set and winning the stanza 25-13. Sophomore middle
Emma Schleucher led all competitors on the court putting down six kills, three digs, and one block in the first set. Right behind her was the pair of sophomore middle
Haley Kindall and sophomore outside
Kayce Krucki. Kindall put down four kills and Krucki added four kills and four digs.
Wheeling Jesuit widened their hitting percentage mark in the second set, hitting .371 as a team. Junior outside
Jessica Thobe, freshman outside
Maddy Smyth, and
Rachel Caja joined the scoring party in the second set. Thobe put down five kills and posted two digs and one block. Smyth had two kills. Caja hit .429, put down 3 kills, and had one block. The Cardinals took the second set 25-10.
Jesuit mixed players in and out the entire third set, eventually winning 25-18. Kindall finished the game with 13 total kills, four blocks, hit .565, and finished with 15.5 points. Schleucher finished with 12 total kills, five digs, and two blocks for 12.5 total points.
Once again, the specialists were special for the Cardinals. Sophomore setter
Andrea Thobe added 44 assists, seven digs, one ace, and one block to her resume.
Makenzie Ripley had nine digs, while
Corrin Early added 12 digs as WJU won in three.
The win propels the Cardinals overall record to 28-3 and a perfect 13-0 in the Mountain East Conference.
