Box Score Buckhannon, W.Va. – On an unusually warm late October evening, the Wheeling Jesuit University Men's Soccer team traveled to MEC Conference opponent West Virginia Wesleyan College Bobcats. The game was intense from the start as both teams were fighting for post season spots in the MEC Conference tournament.
Possession and control of the ball was a constant battle in the midfield, which enhanced the physical nature of the game. A few chances came early for the Bobcats who outshot the Cardinals seven to two in the first half, but most were from a safe distance and were saved easily. Cardinal goalkeeper
Cody Thompson came up with a few big saves late in the half to keep the game scoreless going into the break.
As the game entered the second half, the Cardinals showed a hunger for the game, taking over the possession, creating opportunities, and eventually scoring the lone goal of the match.

Jordan Frommeyer to finish. The Cardinals dominated the second half by outshooting the Bobcats nine to six.
WJU Head Coach Jim Regan said about the game, "Beating a team ahead of us in the standings is a great confidence booster and proof that the team is getting better and better as the games go on." The Cardinals will use this momentum heading to the conference tournament.
The Wheeling Jesuit University Men's Soccer team will now move on to postseason play as the MEC Conference Tournament starts up next week. The Cardinals will travel to Notre Dame College to take on the Falcons in a Semi-Final match up on Thursday November 6
