Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.---The Wheeling Jesuit men's basketball team traveled to Shepherdstown, W.Va. for game two of the season series with Shepherd University. The Rams (9-4, 6-3 WVIAC) evened the series, 1-1, with 113-101 league victory.
Six Cardinals (6-7, 3-6 WVIAC) reached double figures on Monday evening as
Justin Fritts led the way with 20 points, shooting 8-for-12 from the field and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Andre Harris followed with 16 points, while
Ben Siefert and
Joe Prati poured in 15 points apiece.
Recardo Gaddy and
Darin Harris rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 and 11, respectively.
Prati opened the game with a 3-pointer, and Jesuit led for the majority of the first half. With five minutes expired, the Cardinals established a 15-8 advantage, but two minutes later, the Rams retaliated with a 9-0 run for a 25-20 lead.
Andre Harris extinguished the run with a long range jumper and Prati followed with a 3-pointer to regain control of the scoreboard, 26-25. Another trifecta by Harris put the Cardinals in front by four points 36-32, however, Shepherd began an 8-0 run and closed out the half with a 55-48 advantage.
In the second half, the Rams increased the lead to 11 points, 77-66, by the 14-minute mark and led by as many as 25 points, 98-73, en route to the 113-101 victory.
Brantley Osborne led the Rams with 31 points, and Chad Moore followed with 21 points. Morgan McDonald notched a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Rounding out the Rams' double-digit scoring were Austin Cunningham and Sidney McCray with 13 and 10.
The Cardinals will travel to Bluefield State College on Thursday, January 17. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
