Cardinal Men Even Season Record with 2-0 Road Win

Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa.---The Wheeling Jesuit men's soccer team added a second mark in the win column to even their record at 2-2 after defeating West Chester University 2-0 on the road Saturday afternoon. Nicolay Netskar netted both goals for the Cardinals, and Jesuit's stingy defense coupled with solid play from keeper Cody Thompson completed the shutout.

The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead into halftime and held on for the win. The scoring started in the 14th minute when Carlos Avila found Netskar for the Cardinals' first goal. Seven minutes later, Jesuit was on the attack again, but this time Luke Roan found Netskar from the corner kick.
 
The Cardinals and the Golden Rams were even in shots for the game as both teams attempted five shots in the first half followed by four shots the second half. Thompson recorded five saves in the win while the Rams goalkeeper had one.
 
Jesuit will open league play on Wednesday, September 12 against Ohio Valley University in Vienna, W.Va. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
