Mountain Cats Strike Twice in Second Half for Win

Box Score JOHNNSTOWN, Pa.---The Wheeling Jesuit women's soccer team fell on the road to the Mountain Cats of Pitt-Johnstown University on Sunday evening. The Cardinals Jenna Klemkowski scored on a penalty kick in the 87th minute, however, Jesuit couldn't find the equalizer, eventually falling 2-1.
 
In the first half, the two teams played to a 0-0 stalemate. Jesuit won the corner kick battle 3-2, but was slightly edged in shots 8-6. Jesuit goal keeper Holly Kraus collected four saves in the first 45-minutes of play and added another in the second half, finishing with five.
 
In the second half, UPJ's Janna Stoup found the frame twice. The first goal was rerecorded at 64:06 as Stoup returned a rebound off the WJU keeper to give the Mountain Cats a 1-0 advantage. A minute-and-a-half later, Stoup increased the Cats lead to 2-0 on a penalty kick, which proved to be the game winner.
 
The Cardinals will play host to Shepherd University on Wednesday, September 26. The WVIAC match is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
