Box Score Institute, W.Va.---The Wheeling Jesuit women's basketball team fell, 76-71, on the road to West Virginia State University Saturday evening. The Yellow Jackets improved to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in WVIAC play, while Jesuit slipped to 1-3 and 0-2.
Breanna Butler led the Cardinals' scoring efforts with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor, and
Emily Robinson and
Taneka Lewis rounded out the Cardinals double-digit scoring performances with 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Alex Anderson and Jaime Sobczak chipped in nine points, and Anderson added a team-high seven rebounds.
Jasmine Blanton poured in a team-high 27 points for West Virginia State, and Jordan Brock followed with 18 points.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Alma Grace McDonough Center against Urbana University. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
