Box Score CLARION, Pa.---One night after the Shepherd Rams forced the Cardinals to five sets, the No. 19 ranked Wheeling Jesuit volleyball team was back in action, this time, in Clarion, Pa. against Atlantic Region rival Clarion University. The Cardinals defeated the Golden Eagles 3-0, taking the three sets by score of 25-21, 25-14 and 25-19.
Allissa Ware led the offense with 12 kills, while the rest of the Cardinal attack was balanced.
Abby Wietrzykowski followed with eight kills while
Jenna Pew,
Madison Strall and
Ashley Remlinger floored seven, six and five kills, respectively.
Rachel Caja (3) and
Corrin Early (1) rounded out the attacking efforts. Strall, Remlinger and Caja added three blocks each, while Ware, Wietrzykowski and Pew all recorded one.
Pew kept the offense in motion with a team-best 18 assists and Strall chipped in 15 assists.
Makenzie Ripley anchored the defense with 15 digs.
With the win, the Cardinals improved to 27-2 overall and Clarion fell to 22-7.
Wheeling Jesuit will be back in action at the Alma Grace McDonough Center on Tuesday, October 30 against Slippery Rock University. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
