Box Score HUNTING VALLEY, Ohio --- The Wheeling Jesuit women's soccer team wrapped up regular season play at Ursuline College on Friday afternoon. The Cardinals dropped their final contest on the road by a score of 3-1. With the win, Ursuline improved to 9-5 overall.
WJU started the scoring in the 36
th minute when
Morgan Headings found
Melinda Earnest for her first collegiate goal. Earnest received the entry pass from the right side and beat the goal keeper in the lower right corner. At halftime, Wheeling Jesuit lead 1-0.
After the break, Ursuline found the back of the net three times for a come-from-behind victory. UC's Hillary Crookston equalized the match with a penalty kick in the 52
nd minute, and Paige Rowan recorded what proved to be the game winner 13 minutes later. Ursuline added a third goal in the 69
th minute as Vanessa Consiglio buried her seventh goal of the season.
Wheeling Jesuit held a 7-1 corner kick advantage, however, UC posted a 20-6 advantage in shots. WJU goalkeeper, Holly Krause, collected 10 saves, while UC's Rachel Smith earned the win with two saves.
The Cardinals finished the season with an overall record of 4-11-3, which includes a 3-6-1 record in WVIAC play.
