Cedarville University Finds Net in Overtime for 3-2 Win

Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio---The Wheeling Jesuit women's soccer team battled Cedarville University on the road Tuesday evening. By the end of regulation, the match was at a 2-2 stalemate, and the Yellow Jackets found the net first in the extra period for a 3-2 non-conference victory.
 
Cedarville started the scoring in the 25th minute when Carley Gregory captured a loose ball in the box and sent it into the net. Three minutes later, Jesuit evened the match as Maria Tennant buried a shot to the far post from 20-yards out. Cedarville recaptured the lead in the 30th minute and carried at 2-1 advantage at halftime.
 
The Cardinals equalized the contest a second time, scoring the second half's only goal. In the 52nd minute, Jessie Vilkofsky blasted a low shot from the corner of the box which beat the Jacket goalkeeper for a 2-2 split and eventually forcing overtime.
 
In the overtime period, Cedarville's Sara Rodgers ripped a shot from 25-yards away which deflected off her teammate's leg, Jacoby Ziegler, and ended the match 3-2.

WJU goalkeeper Holly Kraus stopped a penalty kick and collected seven saves in the tough loss.
 
The Cardinals will play host to West Liberty University on Saturday, October 3 at James LaRosa Soccer Complex. The cross town rivalry match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
