Box Score GLENVILLE, W.Va.---The No. 17 ranked Wheeling Jesuit volleyball team extended its WVIAC winning streak to 76 consecutive matches and 63-straight regular season contests after defeating Glenville State College 3-0 on the road Wednesday evening. With the win, the Cardinals improved to 20-2 overall and 8-0 in WVIAC play.
Wheeling Jesuit dominated play above the net, recording 33 kills and 12 team blocks. The offensive attack was balanced as 10 Cardinals recorded kills.
Allissa Ware and
Abby Wietrzykowski floored a team-best seven kills apiece, while
Jenna Pew followed with six kills and
Rachel Gambow registered four.
Ashley Remlinger Rachel Caja and
Emily Blank put-away two kills each, and
Corrin Early, Angela McNulty and
Madison Strall all chipped in one. Strall added a team-high 20 assists, while
Mikayla Zernic tossed 11 assists.
Defensively, Pew, Caja and Strall all collected solo blocks, while McNulty and Strall led with four block assists apiece. Ware, Pew, Caja and Remlinger finished with three block assists each and Wietrzykowski had one.
Wheeling Jesuit will be back in action on Saturday, October 13 in Philippi, W.Va. against Alderson-Broaddus College. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
