Luis Ambrosio, an eight-time NAIA All-American and Brazilian National Age Group Champion, begins his second season (2015-16) with the Cardinals. He adds both swimming experience, racing technique and proven coaching ability to the Wheeling Jesuit swimming coaching staff. Luis administers the WJU swimming “Academic Mentoring and Study Table Program” along with his on deck coaching responsibilities,
Luis earned his swimming credentials at Esporte Clube Pinheiros in Sao Paulo, where he excelled in the breaststroke, fly and IM events. His success at Pinheirors earned him a Scholarship to Union College (Barbourville Ky.), where he earned his All-American honors. Luis also set school records accolades represented Union College at four NAIA National Championship meets.
Ambrosio is a talented student, as well, as he achieved CSCAA Scholar All-American. He graduated in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Science-Athletic Training. Luis is pursuing his Masters of Business Administration at Wheeling Jesuit University.
