Kelli Williams enters her fourth season as head softball coach for the Wheeling Jesuit University Cardinals.
In Williams first season (2013) with the Cardinals, she coached four WVIAC All- Conference Selections (Jarah Ice, Ashley Nichols, Aleecia Sunagel, and Angie Reddick). Last season, Angie Reddick was the lone All-MEC First Team recipient for Jesuit. Reddick was also picked for the All-MEC Conference Team. Prior to coming to WJU, Williams spent a year at Adrian College as an assistant coach. Her primary responsibilities at Adrian included monitoring the student-athletes academic progress, recruiting, fundraising, off-season workouts and pregame preparation. On the field, Williams coaching duties included primarily infield play and functioning as the team’s hitting instructor.
Prior to her time at Adrian, Williams spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Division I St. Francis University (2009-2011), while earning her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. During her time with the Red Flash, Williams focused on defensive play (infield and outfield) and offensive techniques. In addition to her coaching duties, she served as the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development. She monitored the academic progress of student-athletes in 22 sports, assisted with study skills, class scheduling and time management while conducting seminars on diversity, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem and leadership skills.
Williams graduated from Ashland University in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. Throughout her playing career at Ashland, she played every infield position, which included shortstop, third base, second base and first base. In 2006, Williams earned first team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades, and was an honorable mention selection in 2005.
