Andy enters his 12th year as an assistant Track and Field coach for Wheeling University. He specializes in the throws, jumps, and multi-events. He is also the university's Strength & Condidition Coach.
During the 2021 COVID season, Kidwell helped lead Wheeling senior Liz Flemming to the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Meet. Flemming finished 13th at the meet, thanks to the guidance of Kidwell.
Andy has coached numerous All-American’s and national qualifiers in the events mentioned. He has also coached multiple field athlete of the year award winners.
Before his career as a coach at Wheeling University, Kidwell competed as a student-athlete for the Cardinals. During his time at WJU, Andy set the schools weight and hammer throw records, and a WVIAC conference meet record. He finished 11th at the NCAA Outdoors Championships in the hammer his senior year.
Andy is a multiple graduate from Wheeling with a bachelors of science degree in marketing, M.B.A, and a certificate in education. He currently resides in Yorkville, Ohio with his wife, Brandi, and their children, Kay and Mason.
