Vanessa Gipson earned WJU Women’s Player of the Week for her performance at the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship meet.
 
Gipson won two individual events, was a member of a winning relay team and set multiple records. Gipson’s first win came in the women’s 1650-yard freestyle event. She set an ASC meet record, WJU record and NCAA B-Cut with a time of 17:41.73. In addition, she set school record and NCAA B-Cut time at the 1000-yard mark at 10:43.80. Gipson followed with a win in the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 5:10.62 and was a member of he women’s 800-yard freestyle relay team. The team of Meghan Ebbert, Alexis Anderson, Gipson and Lydia Kidd touched first with a time of 7:57.08
