Matt Maccario, a men’s lacrosse junior defenseman from Springfield, Pa., has been selected as the Wheeling Jesuit Men’s Athlete of the Week for his performance against Chestnut Hill College on Saturday, March 24.
 
The Preseason All-American matched up against Mike Melnychenko, who was the 2011 ECC Rookie of the Year, preseason DII All-American, and current leading scorer for Chestnut Hill University. In the 10-9 loss Maccario held Melnychenko pointless on the day, causing four caused turnovers and picking up four ground balls.
