WHEELING, W.Va – Jacob Donahue of the WJU wrestling team is the Male Athlete of the Week!
 
At the 2017 National Duals, Jake finished with a perfect 4-0 record to help WJU take second place. The Cardinals defeated three ranked opponents before falling to No. 1 St. Cloud State in the championship match.
 
On the first day, Donahue received a forfeit and won a decision. The freshman added a key fall in 4:13 to start the match against Colorado State Pueblo before he upset No. 1 ranked Brett Velaquez of St. Cloud State, 6-2, to start the title match. On the season, Jake is now 9-4.
