WHEELING, W.Va. – Jakub (Kuba) Skrzypczak of the men’s swimming team and Logan Bowman of the wrestling team have been named Co-WJU Athletes of the Week after their recent performances.

Bowman helped the WJU wrestling team clinch victories over Millersville University last Tuesday and Seton Hill on Saturday. Bowman turned a 1-1 third period tie into a 5-2 decision to tie the team score at 19 apiece against Millersville. The Cardinals won in a tiebreaker, 20-19.

The Fairmont, West Virginia native followed up this performance with another thrilling effort on Saturday. Bowman took a victory in the final match, the 285-pound bout, for the second consecutive match. He turned a reverse that led to a third period fall to secure the 22-14 WJU victory.  

The Cardinal wrestlers return on Wednesday, February 17 at home against Gannon University at 7 p.m.
