WHEELING, W.Va. – Aitor Iniguez de Heredia of the men’s soccer team has been named the Wheeling Jesuit University Male Athlete of the Week after earning All-Atlantic Region honors Monday afternoon.  

Heredia led the Cardinals to a 10-8-1 season including four wins over ranked opponents, one of which came against then No. 1 ranked Charleston University. He finished the season with a team high 54 shots, 18 of which were on goal. He also led WJU with seven goals and four assists, totaling 18 points.

Heredia is the first Cardinal player to be recognized with All-Region honors since 2011. He finished top-10 in the Mountain East Conference in nine different categories including fifth in points and assists, and sixth in goals.
